Idaho Bigfoot Encounters
Did you know that Idaho is one of the top states in the country to spot the elusive Bigfoot? No joke! We have analyzed the data from Bigfoot Researchers Organization and the results will amaze you. If you take the most Bigfoot sightings by population then you can clearly see that Idaho scores in the top 5 states in the country. We jumped head first into the reports about Idaho from BFRO.net and analyzed the data and compared it against Idaho's population data to see where the best chance of finding our hairy homie would be here in the gem state, and we have illustrated that data in the following graph below for you.
If you take a look at the geographic map of Idaho by county you can clearly see that North Idaho's Bonner County clearly wins the prize as Idaho's Bigfoot hotspot. According to the map, eighteen of Idaho's 103 sightings have taken place there. Coming in at second place and hot on the heels of Bonner county with 13 sightings is Valley county. We dove into the reported sightings and highlighted the most recent to date reports below.
Figure 2: Idaho Counties Bigfoot Sightings
The first of the most recent reported encounters happened in Bonner's county in February of 2020. In case # 58251, "Wife and husband find tracks, have afternoon sighting near Hell roaring Ridge." It's amazing to me to read about this case and the harrowing and frightening experience these campers witnessed. They witnessed a (Class A) sighting and described perfectly what is considered the most prominent Sasquatch in the Pacific NorthWest. It was a type 1 Pattie-like Bigfoot.
The second most recent and striking encounter happened in Valley County, Idaho. If you like to ski, and many of us do, then this case will knock your ski's off because it's close to the best ski resorts on Idaho. Taking place in Valley county in November of 2018 by arguably the best ski mountain around, the famous Tamarack Ski Resort. In case # 62182, “Dusk sightings by hikers in the general vicinity of Tamarack Ski Resort.” This case blew my socks off! This is like an episode right out of Travel Channel's hit show, "Terror In The Woods." Just picture it, you're hiking in the backcountry on a beautiful, brisk November afternoon when “about thirty yards away they saw an upright figure looking at them from behind a large tree. The witness described it as gorilla-like (i.e. a primate, not a bear.) The tree did not cover the whole body," as described in the report. Then if that wasn't heart stopping enough, scared and startled, they turned and ran for about 15 minutes but in the wrong direction from where their camp was located. They ran further into the woods before getting their bearings and cautiously made the arduous journey back to their camp site. Once again, in this report, they carefully described a (Class A) sighting and a type 1 Pattie-like Bigfoot.
In our last example of recent encounters and it's a whopper of a case. It took place in Valley County in McCall, Idaho on Sunday, July 30th, 2017. As Boiseans, most all of us at one time or another have ventured to McCall to enjoy the Payette Lake or in town for the famous Ice Festival they have there every year. Whatever the event McCall is a place that most Boiseans love to visit. In case # 57970, "A moonlight sighting as a Boy Scout at Payette Lake near McCall." Just imagine for a brief moment. You're a Boy scout having a blast with your friends and the next moment you see a Bigfoot drinking from a stream about 30 yards away. You freeze for just a moment to process what your eyes are showing you. You tell yourself this can't be what it looks like and must be a man in a Ghillie Suit. But just wait, then the monstrous figure stands up and locks eyes with you. That's when it hits you, this is no man standing at eight feet tall in a suit, it's a Bigfoot! If that isn't enough to make you wet yourself then I don't know what is. In this last example it's important to note that again this was a (Class A) sighting and a type 1 Pattie-like Bigfoot.
Do you see the pattern here? Most of the sightings if not all the sightings fit the classic example of a TYPE 1 Bigfoot. The similarities of these reports are striking. So if you want to catch a glimpse of Bigfoot, you may not need to venture too far from the Treasure Valley to spot our furry friend. While enjoying the Gem State and all the treasures it has to offer, keep your eyes peeled and your nose clear, you just might have an encounter of your own. Because of this and the many Bigfoots that are being spotted across the country we want you to let us or Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization know if you see anything Bigfoot related. So to all our Bigfoot friends out there in the Treasure Valley and beyond, Boise Bigfoot wishes you well. Keep it squatchy my friends!
